Quick help for your EVGREEN charging system.
Find common troubleshooting steps for your charger, Dynamic Energy Meter, Power Balancing system, Installation Kit, Panel Upgrade Kit, and EVGREEN Cloud & App.
Charger Troubleshooting
Charger Offline
Check:
-
Charger power is ON
-
Circuit breaker is ON
-
Wi-Fi connection is available
-
Charger status light or display
-
EVGREEN App connection status
If the charger remains offline, restart the charger once and check again.
Vehicle Not Charging
Check:
-
Charging connector is fully inserted
-
Vehicle is ready to charge
-
Vehicle charging schedule is not delaying charging
-
Charger is not paused by Power Balancing
-
Charger does not show an error
Charging Power Is Lower Than Expected
Charging current may be reduced because of:
-
Vehicle charging limits
-
Installer current setting
-
Dynamic Power Balancing
-
Multiple chargers sharing available power
-
High charger or connector temperature
Power Balancing Troubleshooting
Charging Reduced or Paused
This can be normal.
EVGREEN Power Balancing continuously monitors the electrical service and adjusts EV charging power to help keep the property within its configured electrical limit.
When building power use increases, EV charging may automatically:
Reduce → Pause → Resume
Charging automatically increases again when more electrical capacity becomes available.
Energy Meter Offline
Check:
-
Meter has power
-
CT connections
-
RS-485 wiring
-
A / B communication polarity
-
Meter configuration
-
Charger-to-meter communication
If meter communication is lost, follow the system's configured safety behavior before continuing charging.
Multiple Charger Troubleshooting
For systems with two or more EVGREEN chargers, check:
-
Master charger is online
-
Linked chargers are online
-
RS-485 communication is connected
-
Power Sharing is enabled
-
Each charger has the correct maximum current setting
Available charging power may be shared automatically between connected vehicles.
Installation Kit Troubleshooting
EVGREEN Installation Kits may include wiring, conduit, connectors, breaker components, receptacles, and other installation hardware.
Charger Has No Power
Check:
-
Main electrical panel breaker
-
EV charger branch circuit breaker
-
Wiring connections
-
Hardwired charger connections
-
NEMA receptacle and plug connection, if applicable
-
Signs of overheating, damage, or loose connections
Breaker Trips During Charging
Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that continues to trip.
Possible causes may include:
-
Incorrect breaker size
-
Wiring problem
-
Loose electrical connection
-
Charger current setting exceeding the installed circuit capacity
-
Damaged receptacle, plug, or cable
-
Electrical fault
Have the installation inspected by a qualified electrician.
NEMA 14-50 Connection
Check that:
-
Plug is fully inserted
-
Receptacle is not loose
-
No discoloration or overheating is visible
-
Charger current is correctly configured for the installed circuit
Do not use damaged plugs or receptacles.
Panel Upgrade Kit Troubleshooting
Panel Upgrade Kits must be installed and serviced by a qualified electrician.
New Panel or Circuit Has No Power
Check:
-
Main breaker position
-
EV charger breaker position
-
Required disconnects
-
Electrical service connections
-
Charger branch circuit
Breaker or Panel Becomes Unusually Hot
Stop using the affected circuit and have it inspected.
Possible causes can include:
-
Loose connections
-
Incorrect conductor size
-
Incorrect breaker size
-
Damaged components
-
Excessive electrical load
Power Balancing After Panel Upgrade
After an electrical service or panel upgrade, verify that the EVGREEN system has the correct:
-
Service size
-
Panel current limit
-
CT rating
-
Dynamic Energy Meter configuration
-
Charger maximum current
-
Power Balancing settings
Incorrect settings may cause unnecessary charging reduction or allow incorrect system limits.
EVGREEN Cloud & App
Charger Not Showing in the App
Check:
-
Correct EVGREEN account is being used
-
Charger has been added to the correct property
-
Charger is connected to the internet
-
Charger serial number is correct
